Alex Patafio

Alex was a law clerk at the Arora Law Firm and a student at Georgia State University College of Law. She passed away on October 7th, 2022.

About Alex

Alex was a third-year student at Georgia State University College of Law, where she was committed to public service as a Public Interest Law and Policy Certificate student.

She served as a student lawyer in the Health Law Partnership (HeLP) Clinic, where she represented disabled children in SSI benefits hearings and housing law matters. Alex also lead the Pro Bono Program’s annual “Alternative Spring Break” housing justice project, where law students work alongside the attorneys at Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation to provide free legal aid to tenants facing eviction. She also worked with the Truancy Intervention Project in Atlanta to assist with eviction prevention efforts, a project that was recognized by The White House and the Department of Justice.

Just a month before her passing she was highlighted by WSB-TV Channel 2 over her role in proving a man’s innocence in a robbery case. During her time as a law clerk with The Arora Law Firm she made a huge impact. Our firm shares the deepest condolences with Alex’s family and friends.

Alex’s family is asking those who were touched by her tenacity and generosity to consider donating to the following charities and organizations:
