About Charles Cullen

Charles Cullen was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in the Program of Liberal Studies, Charles attended Georgia State University College of Law. While in law school Charles focused his studies on criminal defense and social justice. He gained valuable experience working with the Georgia Innocence Project, the Federal Defender’s Program for the Northern District of Georgia, the Dekalb County Public Defender’s Office, the Health Law Partnership, and the Hon. Judge Gail S. Tusan (retired).

Prior to attending Law School, Charles discovered his passion for defending marginalized communities while working with Atlanta civic leaders such as Kwanza Hall, Cabral Franklin and former Atlanta Mayor, Shirley Franklin. He also reported on political and social justice news for a variety of publications across the Midwest, Texas, and Georgia.

While at Georgia State, Charles was awarded scholarships in recognition of outstanding advocacy work, received two CALI awards for outstanding academic achievement, was named to the Order of Barristers, competed as a member of the Student Trial Lawyers Association, was a coach and competitor for Georgia State’s Moot Court, and was selected to help instruct Georgia State Law’s second year advocacy course. Additionally, Charles worked as a Research Assistant for Natsu Taylor Saito, distinguished professor of Law.

Charles is passionate about criminal law and believes in an aggressive, client-first approach to criminal defense. He brings the care and compassion he developed at the Innocence Project, reading letters from wrongly incarcerated individuals, to his work at the Arora law firm.

Charles is an avid sports fan and certified barbeque judge. He has recently taken up the electric guitar to the delight of his neighbors.
